It is with a heavy heart that i put on here the death of mine and my daughters mare "carless lady jane" who was sadly put to sleep today, it looked to the vet she had suffered a stroke.....it seems so unreal that only yesterday she was out in her field happy and contented and no reasons as to worry about her as always coming to you to have her food, as soon as she saw you, and today .....my beautiful girl was laid to rest . We had had the pleasure of her company for nearly 17 yrs she was just 6 when we bought her, even though she was quiet a tyrant when we bought her destroying all our fences ,we put up with it as she had no other vices. Only this summer she was learning a 6,7 and a 12 year old to ride, as she had done so many summers before, she knew they could not ride and she always was so well behaved for them. i feel so empty already without her and in the morning when i go to feed the others ...it just wont ever be the same without her wickering to me as if saying "hurry up feed me ". LADY JANE you will live in my heart forever greatful for the day you became our friend and looking mine and other children that rode you you were truly a star xx god keep you safe

Thank you Storr, it has been just over a week since her passing and it seems we are all in mourning here, my other mares and their foals have all been ever so quiet since she has gone quite eerie , its so difficult sometimes i think my friends who are not horsey think i'm mad, by my sadness of losing her.

No you are not mad - just a loving horse owner. Took me 3 years to get over my best mare being killed by lightening!
Treasure the memories. RIP xx
