I know I should not moan as there are so many other people worse off than me but i am really not having a good day. It is my birthday today. I did not even get so much as a happy birthday from my OH as he left for work never mind a card or a box of chololates!. I know I am the wrong side of 40 but I was hoping for something, not asking for a trip to Paris!
children were thier usual monday morning horrors not getting ready for school when I asked them and that awfull school receptionist drove me to tears with her usual curtness and general rude attitude when i only asked a perfectly logical question!
I did not give the right date when I originally registered on HG so my birthday is not even showing up on 'today's birthdays
Birthdays and similar dates on the calender always make me think of my mum even more than usual. How I miss her. It never mattered to her how old I was she always tried to make my day special. I guess she is looking down on me now thinking 'come on don't be silly' and she is probably right but today is NOT a good day!

Birthday Karma from me too! Maybe he's going to surprise you with something nice tonight (flowers or jewellery I mean!), I certainly would make sure your posh frock is ironed and definitely don't cook any tea, then he's GOT to take you out for a lovely meal!
And if he really has forgotton, make the most of it, I find revenge shopping with his credit card usually makes sure he doesn't forget next year!

Thank you milliesmum. Can't imagine i will get anything though as I know he has not got much money so overatdaknee i serioulsy reckon a trip to paris is out of the question!
Still nothing from new pony's owners, OH reckons I should tell them to forget it (although he did not put it so politely).
I am most definitely NOT doing much housework today.
Had a lovely cuddle with our little filly, though, she looked at me like I was mad when I started snivelling into her mane! Just so wish we could find her a friend!

thank you heathers, I reckon I need to get a grip, really and be thankfull for all I have. We love our little filly and are sooo gratefull to wensleystud for letting us have her.
The children may drive me to distraction but I know I am also very lucky to have three very beautifull, happy, healthy children! My eldest made me so proud yesterday in the rememberance day parade, bless him!

Have a freinds whoses teenage daughter suddenly dirley ill, with something that you would never imagine and prognois very guarded, so i am thanking lord for every day i have xx

Yes emma jane you are very right, just feeling ridiculously sorry for myself.
I am so sorry to hear about your friends daughter. Despite how fed up i get at times if anything happened to or was wrong with one of my children I really could not cope.

ahhhh, hun, sorry to hear your feeling down on your special day, have a big hug from me  Its awful when you get past 30 and no one remembers your birthday, we dont want a lot of fuss but a card would be nice, or a pressie or a nice meal out somewhere so we dont have to wash up or a nice shopping trip, or a little holiday or our car upgraded or a nice hunky man popping out of a giant birthday cake and going 'surprise', with a pressie over his bits and a rose in his teeth (not sure how hes gonna yell surprise with a gob full of stalk tho?). my advice to you would be to eat chocolate til you feel sick tonight, put your feet up and make everyone else wait on you hand and foot. and when its your OH payday, advise him he is taking you on a shopping trip to buy something nice to cheer you up. have given you a birthday karma anyway, so that should make you feel a bit better! P.S come to the nightclub tonight and illl buy you a birthday beer  |

Hey my birthday was on 7th oct, still not seen my dad or had a card yet and i a only child, i keep smiling and now making him feel guilty and will do as if dont get much im going to act the spoilt brat and say is that all  dont you think it should have accrued interest at a tenner a day considering i am a only child lol xxxx |

yes thank you everybody for your birthday messages, I have cheered up a bit. Not becasue OH has lavished me with flowers and decadent pressies but I because I have got hold of myself and given myself a good shake and decided to not be soo ridiculous. I have so much to be thankfull for and moaning about not getting any presents is mad! Well i did get a box of chocoltes from one of the mums at school, which I enjoyed very much, so thank you to her. going round to hers for cofee tommorow and she is going to buy me a cake!. (hope it is a chocolate one) Ultimately I am sure we will find the right pony (with any luck before my children are out of LR!)and the traumas of trying to find one will be behind us. I remember when we were unsuccessfully trying for children that one of the mums on the ward I worked on had been in a similar position once but eventually had three children.(which I have now) she said she wished someone would could have said to her'don't worry it will all be ok. It was ok and it will be ok. OH has promised to take me out for a slap up meal when he gets his good pay after christmas. I am going to order the most expensive things on the menu!!! Nothing will ever bring my mum back but the memories I have of her will always be very preciuous and the fact that my daughter is so like her is uncanny. As for that school receptionist I have decided i am not going to take any more of her rubbish!! I am a grown up professional woman she has no right to talk to me, or anyone else for that matter, the way she does. So watch out woman the worm has turned!!!  |
