For the Piran Fair Cop associates.
The legend was that he ended up Showjumping for some time , I think quite successfully and then an instructor at our local riding school bought him to show for her daughter. It was this particular lady that thought that the rest of the world before her didn't know what a star they had she was going to sort him out and take the world by storm. She was going on holiday and didn't trust anyone at the riding school where he was in livery to look after him, hence needing holiday livery. I have just had another memory jog, she phoned the yard and I answered and after hearing the name burst out laughing and half an hour later she bumped into mum at the village shop who had the same reaction. We never heard of him ever ever again.

about 26 years ago Alan Turner asked me to take and produce to sell some of the Piran ponies . As a "sweetener" he offered me Piran Larkspur for my 9 year old daughter to show under saddle as she was not in foal. We had a super time but she went lame with the BIGGEST splint ever. so she retired for the second time and Alan lent her to me for a foal. I sent her to Jerome but she did not hold and I don't think bred again. Piran Meteor I had to geld and show, I think Jane Hankey had him eventually. I also had Piran Fair Play a 15hh shp I sold to the Smith family. Then there was Meadowsweet sister to Larkspur Ithink she went to a customer in Yorkshire, such was her temperament that she arrived on Thursday, we rode her sidesaddle (first time ever) on Friday and won a class on the Saturday. there were many more whose names i cannot remember. Good days. loved going to Piran.

just stumbled on to this forum by chance when feeling nostalgic !!!.I was lucky enough oh so many years ago,to complete my npsa stud assistent exam at the piran stud so hearing all the old names and descriptions of various piran ponies brought back so many memories.the head girl was sue glen and the other trainees were jo,adam and mary,it was hard work but so much fun.jessie brown was one of my favourites and most of the ponies mentioned in the thread i looked after ,some for the first year of their life and the older ones.sweeny i remember going in the pool,he had character but was no trouble to do at all.the temperment of the youngsters were exceptional, I only wish I had taken more photos,it was a very special time.

Hi All just thought I'd add this here, I have had Gwelanmor Candytuft for 3 years now, we are really lucky to have had a lovely filly foal from her by my own PBA stallion Bryntyn Revolution ( St Lawrence Pretty Fair / My Eclipse ) she's grey and called Bryntyn Tattinger. We also have Lilac's relatives here out of her half sister ( same Dam) St Lawrence Maytime. Took me years to find these girls, I was blessed to have known them as a child. Seems as though these beautiful lines are being terrible forgotten. I am doing my bit to keep it going. And have some lovely youngsters from these fab girls.

Flora Dora is the dam of both of my horses. Last time we heard she was still with Marilyn & Tony Pilgrim of the Sporting Horse Stud. Hi,Josie, I know this is an old post but Piran Flora Dora Is the Dam of my mare. I would love to know any history as I know so little about her. How many foals did Flora have?
