Our beloved kitten was hit by a car last night. fortunately He has survived relatively unscathed with a swollen eye and cuts to his mouth. It is, however the worst thing in the world to see you precious kitten hit by a car in front of your eyes. Please keep him in your thoughts as I don't think he is out of the woods yet. He has used up at least three of his lives now!!

Oh poor soul, I hope he pulls through.Have you considered keeping him a house cat. I have 5 cats and only one goes out, the rest (including a feral) much prefer the bed! The one who goes out is in and out like a yo yo. He will not go out in the rain and if he is out on his own, it is overnight when there are less cars.

Twinkles does seem a little brighter today but is still very subdued, not his fomer lively, chirpy, cheeky self that's for sure. My husband reckons he will never be the same cat again. I hate to admit it but I think he could be right which makes me so sad.LIke I said he was one in a million, totally unique. I think once in a while an animal that is not like the others comes along. Nothing can ever compare to them, twinklles was one of those. Thank god he survived but it is almost like losing him when he is not and may well never be the same cat. Perhaps I need to give him time, will see what vet has to say tommorow.

Yes, I think you are being hasty thinking this. Having a big knock like that would take a couple of weeks to get over IMHO.
Just let him be quiet and keep indoors for a bit. Time will hopefully bring him back to his former glory!

Poor kitty. One of ours was run over by a car and was vv poorly, but I think that if they can get over the shock most cats are pretty tough customers. One good thing, ours has never been near the road since ,and shes now 13. Good luck!x

Yes thank you for all your kind words. We are keeping him in, though I would be suprized if he does go out again, he is still very shocked. I guess i need to accept it wil be a while before he is a bit better.
