Smart bay gelding 142.7 cms - 16 years young looking for caring, knowledgable loan home, preferably in the NW area - but the right home is the most important thing.
Beautifully schooled - fabulous flatwork (winner at PC Area dressage in Intermediate section a couple of years ago and prior to that highest placed under 15 yrs rider at area level twice). Many wins in unaffiliated SHP classes (would hold his own in affiliated classes too....we just never did SHP classes at affiliated level at that time as we concentrated on workers).
Super jumper - PC event/SJ team member at novice challenge. Approx £250.00 BSJA winnings and excellent whp (would not do big RIHS/Hoys tracks). Still eligible for novice BSPS/PUK classes.
Great hack either alone or with company - goes first or last.
Fabulous hunting pony who copes with any going/country.
Never bucks, rears or naps.
Good to catch, shoe, clip, box (he travels in either lorry or trailer BUT does not like to travel on passenger side of trailer).
The catch....and yes, there always is one. He is tricky to handle. He sometimes puts his ears back and snaps at you and has on very rare occasions (when the "rules" have been ignored) actually bitten - though he would never kick. When being led (ie to field/lorry/ trailer etc) he has to wear a bridle or may tank off (though he never even tries if bridle is on). In the field he has never been a problem and is not aggressive with other ponies - though we have never turned him out with mares or very small ponies.
Both my children have attended PC camp with this pony and managed him entirely on their own.
Once you are actually on him, a very novice rider could ride him as he is so straightforward!
He comes fully equipped with quality, well fitting tack and a couple of rugs.
I have owned this pony for 7 years and he gave both of my children masses of fun, confidence and success and would love to see him continue to do the same for another family. I hope I have not put anyone off by being entirely honest. I have nothing to hide as this pony is for loan, not sale. He just needs the right people/home/yard. I feel his dressage abilities are particularly "untapped".
If you are interested please pm me and if he sounds suitable come and have a look at him.
References available for me and this pony....and references for any potential home will be required.
I will try to attach a photo in due course.....
