I have used him this time- he was standing at Country Farm- where is he standing this year do you know? I thought he was a very nice boy with plenty of good bone.

personally speaking, from experience of Country Farm- I wouldn't go. Which is a pity as he is a nice boy- but after breeding for more years than the staff have been alive- I was treated like a 5yo child with no experience- my cash was taken- service cert arrived only a month ago saying he has just been graded!!!! not my way of going on at all.
When I went I was told he had passed everything- then wondered why it took so long and hassle to get a covering cert- not all the story but won't get them into anymore trouble.

Have seen video of him and he looks great - was considering asking about AI for my Sec C mare - a bit expensive for me tho. Have to find one closer to home.

I like Del Boy he has been turned out in a field next to her all winter thing is I want a native and Del has soo much bone and substance she would prob have a trad, not that I dont like them as I do just want a native for a change, will see what she has this time to Diggers Gold, she has already thrown 2 exceptional foals to him just wanted something nearer.

I think bally sensation is lovely,i've seen him a couple of times in real life. And i don't know everyone else's experience with the stud of course, but i've spent a fair bit of time up there and never had any problems and wouldn't hesitate to send my mare there.

I do think that people need to know how breeding concerns conduct themselves, as a number of years ago I sent my t.b. mare to an HIS Stallion to be covered. She was there for 5 months as they said she would not take. The stallion owner had 4 other stallions as well. My mare came back in foal, with no covering certificate. The stud advertised that the stallions were all reg and certified. He did not have them reg. with Weatherbys and I had to threaten court action to get anything done> My mare was not in foal to the HIS stallion she had been covered by something else. I then got threatened. So a word of warning goes along way with me. I could mention names but I think the horses and the man are probably dead now!

Some studs don't seem to worry about reputation and can ruin things for genuine studs that will show mare owners the horses license and relevant paperwork....the other thing I don't like is when studs don't keep you updated and offer you other alternatives

You can always ring up the BSPA to obtain proof of grading or Weatherbys for proof of license which the animal in question is with. There is a video of him on U-tube.

i have used country farm stud twice and have no complaints about the way they run the stud. the stallions are in brilliant condition and the stud clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and helpful, my first visit resulted in a strapping colt and even though this time my mare has a conceiving problem and came back empty i would still recommend the stud to others
