I always thought that where children are concerned the corrupt judges of this world would not be facey, but after this week end i have changed my mind, especially in the llanarth open ridden final at puk southern champs, 3 numbers were called and these were not to go into evening performance, leaving the final 10 to compete later that evening, but to my amazement the judge changed his mind, when this was questioned with the powers of above all the score sheets have disappeared, and any paperwork to do with that class had disappeared, why do judges have to this

So are you questioning the winner? ? or the fact that the sheets disappeared?

If you don't like the judges or the judging system, why don't you stop showing and move into another discipline? This isn't a sarcastic questions, I just read so many complaints about it I just wonder why you would do it. I have asked this before as people do go on about how 'awful' this that and the other is and then there is a rush of solidarity with the person complaining often saying 'showing is their life' or words to that effect.
There are other things to do with horses and there are other things in life. If you don't enjoy it and can't take what it is (ie simply a person's opinion) then you would be happier doing something else.

If you are primarily a rider, that's easy to do. If breeding is your thing then it is a bit more complicated as nothing bred would get seen until it was up and going, much later on, and depends on you having a rider, being able to break etc. At least youngstock can be shown in hand and so out earlier! We are looking at taking one of the Ds to a BEF Futurity this year though for something different.
I do agree with your comments, just putting another point of view! If I still rode instead of breeding I'd be out there dressaging as I used to. The ones ridden here did all sorts of stuff, not just showing, that was never the point.

I try to remain optimistic about showing, and continue to fight for what i want to achieve, there is barriers to cross in everything you do in life or what ever hobby you have, personally i wouldn't go under someone i was friend's with anyway, purely because people will presume i won for that reason only - even if my animal actually was the best in the class that day! If people have to go under friends to win, it proves they have doubt's that their animal will win elsewhere or under someone else who doesn't know their face. Don't let thing's like this get to you, just keep fighting for what u want and have fun! If my animals are well behaved and do their best for me in the ring i'm happy, if i win this is an added highlight to my day! I agree with having the good judge's list though, our hobby is too expensive and time consuming to waste if your pony isn't that judge's type.... Everyone has a different opinion about everything anyway, soyour animal is never going to be seen as everyone's 'cup of tea', just have to take thing's with a pinch of salt and keep trying to achieve what you set out to! ;-)
