First of all apologies if this is the wrong place to post, but it didn't seem to fit anywhere else! We are thinking of taking a Stand at PUK summer champs, but have never even been to the show so not sure what to expect/whether you think its worth it? Is there much shopping there and do competitors avail themselves of it? In case its relevent, we would be selling showing numnahs. Should we also take GP and dressage ones too do you think?

I think as with everything else connected with PUK they are very expensive thats why they dont get many trade stands. I heard that they were packing up and leaving early las year cos it was so quiet. If I were you I would price up Equifest as well as it will prob be much cheaper and people will have more spare cash there. Just my opinion though others may have other ideas!

Thanks, that's interesting. I hadn't looked at Equifest.
Would be interested to hear any other views? Is it just Showing there (sorry for being ignorant!). We usually do Badminton etc, but would like to go to a prediminantly Showing show next year as well. Not HOYS, can't bear the NEC lol.

Now did I dream it, or was there some trouble with theives robbing the trade stands overnight at PUK? I might have got it wrong, could have been another show, but I seem to remember a lot of stolen property being in someones lorry and them being escorted off by security.

You remember right MM, I think it was a case of 'incorrectly paid for' rather than 'shop-lifted' but stolen property all the same. I did hear P(UK) dealt with it very quickly.

I spoke to quiet a people on trade stands last year and I don't think business was great. Like somebody else has put, some packed up early.

I think Equifest is going to really start taking off this year so you may be better looking at them!

I think you should do both - Yes it was quiet at PUK last year but I don't think people shouldn't be putting people off or else there will be no trade stands at all.
Think the reason it was quiet aswell were because the trade stands were spread out last unlike the year before where they were all up near the Gold ring which I think was much better.
The more trade stands the better I think!!!

I am having the same dilema, I am going to do Equifest I think, I know that for the past couple of years the trade stands having been reducing at PUK but they ask for so much money to stand there. It ok saying dont put people off but if you can get more space for half the price at another venue traders are going to go for the cheper option.
PUK when it was at Peterborough had brilliant shopping and it is a shame but they only have themselves to blame for the decrease.

Some of the comments re the charges at PUK made me wonder if I had misunderstood the pricing and now I realise that I had!! OMG those are crazy! We dont pay that for Badminton! Hmm Equifest is looking a lot more likely. I'm amazed they get ANY trade stands

Cayo get over it. All you have done is slag PUK off lately. Some of us prefer PUK rather than Equifest. I researched it this year and it would have cost me exactly the same at each show to take 2 ponies. So PUK it is. And as for the trade stands I save up my shopping till I get there! So I have plenty to spend. ;D

HOW MUCH IS IT FOR A TRADE STAND AT puk NOW? ? The trade stands at BSPS seemed to be having a rather wet and quiet time this year. They were not well positioned and unless u had flat ponies u did not see them. CERTAINLY THE TRADE STANDS AT puk HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THE CHILDRENS ANNUAL AND PARENTS SPENDING TIME! THIS YEAR ON THE WHOLE THERE WERE FEWER THAN EVER.

A friend of mine priced up for a trade stand at both PUK & Equifest, as this year was her first time taking her stand to a big show. She went to Equifest as the price was much more within her budget. I know there were 52 trade stands and I believe that she had a reasonable show & will be going again next year. She did say people were being careful with money, but I think that is a lot to do with the recession not the show, plus with that amount of stands people have a wide range to choose from. At the end of the day its your choice, I do know that everyone thoroughly enjoyed Equifest & I have only heard good reports.
