Hi, our JR is nearly two years old and often sits at night bent over licking her own stomach - not sure why - cant see anything and she doesnt make it sore just wet - any ideas

not a clue... but if she carries on , she will make it sore... are you sure she hasn't got a little bit of eczema... or something...

She could have a mild allergic reaction to something you are using in the house. Usually it affects the feet but if it is a very mild reaction it could just affect her sensitive tummy skin. The most common reagents are things like shake and vac, flash(or similar) floor cleaner or washing her bed in biological powder. If you think that could be a possibility try rinsing hard floors with clear water, do away with shake and vac and wash bedding in non-bio.

It could be food but you would think that might be more generalised itching I would have thought if it's just her tummy it's more contact allergy but anything is worth a try!

I do know of a JR with a similar problem changes to James Wellbeloved and a definite improvement,might be worth a try. Alys

Thanks for your replies, dont use shake & vac but may be guilty of washing her bed in bio washing powder - will also think about her food
