well not really as i know what i should do but how to do it .... my good friend has a field very close to me ,she has 1 of alans offspring a coloured pony and a sec a that i sold them all doing well, but she shares the field with her son who admittingly say he knows nothing but his girlfriend thinks she is the worlds best horsy woman well they got this yearling in july who was a little thin and shy but not aggressive since theve had it it has lost so much weight and they had a grown man on it and were driving her all the time i told them that it wasnt right and his mum has given up talking since then they have found out that she was turned out with a very large coloured vanner stallion ,,,,her belly is verry big but you can see every rib her neck is so thin ,,she definatly wouldnt support a foal ,i suggested to them to get it aborted for the fillies sake but all i got was but it might be a coloured ,,,i checked on her the other day and she was on a paddock without a scap of grass no hay nothing and she is very aggressive ,my friend has been giving her her hay and feed but it isnt right ,,its also crwling alive with lice ,,my friend asked my to say something ,,,,but before i could say anything i got a phone call from them asking if i can check to see if she is in foal if not they are gunna start work with her

Try RSPCA or your local council animal welfare or ILPHA . If I was you as bad as it is you should not get mixed up in it. If mare is in foal she needs help, if you say she is not then they are going to abuse her by riding her. GET HELP for this mare.

You and your friend should be careful getting involved with these people and get this reported ASAP....as I think the new Law brought in a few years ago which is The Duty of Care, means that being aware of this animal's condition and not doing anything about it could actually put you and your friend in a tricky position I feel quite sorry for you, your friend and the pony it is a horrible situation to be in and I know you are trying to do the right thing....Good Luck and Best Wishes ..x.
