I am desperate to get some more people on my forum at www.equestrianmarketplace.com but I can't seem to get them and if I get them, I cant keep them!!! Posting on forums pushes a site up the search engines. I also need more advertisers. People advertise on here - but although we are free at the moment, including photos/videos people just wont advertise with us. We had 300, 000 hits in January - so whats the problem??? We are not asking anyone to be disloyal to HG - I still post on here myself but I am skaing people to post/advertise with me too. PLEASE!!!

Hi, my friend has registered on there and finds it's reasonably quick, once you have found your way around it. She reckons it could be your server which slows things down. Mozilla Firefox is sometimes quicker than Internet Explorer.
Messydesk - if you hear that quite a few people are finding it too slow, perhaps you could have a word with your website hosting company to see if they can speed it up their end.
Good luck in your new venture.

I have to say I looked at this web site when you sent me a link for advertising and I thought it looked a bit empty. I had a look to today at the blogs and was really impressed. Pages loaded quickly. I am a member of three forums, its a bit like joining a club, one I hardly ever post because I do not think my oppions will fit, but like eaves dropping. I think you have to either give it time or advertise more. Horsequest is really a rubbish site but they spent heavily on advertising, Horsemart is not much better but you can search it. If you search for horse sales ,which sometimes I do, I often find new sites but a lot of these peater out. I think you may have to offer the free advertising offer for longer as it is still very early in the year and there seem to be not that many people selling about. Anyway good luck

Tried to advertise but it crashed twice and I had to go back and start from scratch, couldn't be bothered to do it again. Sorry.

I can sympathise with the problem here, as the company I work for is in a very similar situation. Two years ago they launched a website specially for student social networking but of course they were up against the likes of facebook and bebo. Two years on we are slowly getting there but I don't think (no I know) we will ever draw the same numbers as facebook. The thing is Facebook has been established long enough that everyone is talking about it, the same as HorseGossip is established amongst the showing/horsey set. It also sounds as though your web-host is not coming up with the goods - which is what has been happening with our site. Keep at them and don't give up until everything is sorted. For the students amongst you you could go to: www.studyvox.co.uk/or www.thestudyvoxfoundation.com/our-patron.htmlwww.zimbio.com/pictures/6Rskxny-fRg/Kylie+Minogue+Presents+Studyvox+Foundation/0ukmb_Gvc9y/Kylie+MinogueOne thing about my job is that you get the chance to meet all sorts of celebrities, including Kylie Minogue, (the StudyVox Foundation Patron) who visited our offices last month to present £16,000 worth of bursaries to four lucky students!!! Good Luck!!
