JJ as many of you is my cat, have always had a very relaxed approach to him as I took a promotion when he was bearly four months old. that takes me out of home of a bout 12/14 hours a day used to work round corner and only left him for 8 hours and never would have expceted him If I had know my life would change he was a present. He runs the flat am a willing slave just had a huge row with some friends who have just been round for dinner. Apparenly hes a very bad anti social cat with no manners because he does not like to be approached aprart form by me and he should not bite if somone grabs his tail am I right to be upset about this or should, as far as I am concerned u dont domintate cats. hes lets me do any thing to him and is my furbaby

Tell said friends to bog off in no uncertain terms. A cat can do as he pleases in his own home. Did you ask his permission to entertain guests? And having his tail grabbed is a complete liberty as far as I can see, I mean what did they expect?? Obviously not animal people and I'm not in the slightest bit surprised he's taken umbrage.

thank you MM I feel better now JJ is cat and cats have there own minds, One of my the friends is a fairly sucessful show producer whos hows dog think its fine to scrounge for food and she is more than happy to give them food for the plate and to lick the plate after wards. She hates cats and amits this as far as I am concerned you enter my home you treat my cat as I do. I have had in the past had to put up with her dogs begging and practicly stealing of my plate but put up0 shut up not my home. Have go JJ wraped up in a towel beside me as hes still a bit put out

I'm not surprised he's sulking bless him, cats unlike dogs do not exist to please humans, that's why it's so rewarding when they come for cuddles in their own time. My old cat used to take the mickey and insist on sitting on the lap of the one person she knew hated cats. And leave white hairs all over their smart clothes.

That makes me laugh ;D ;D My mother (as you all probably know) is not my favourite person in the world. My lovely big white and fairly anceint puss cat PICKLE insists on trying to give her a cuddle. I make her sit in the middle of the kitchen, so he cant get to her. She hates it and thinks I should shut him out Dont think so Mother, you can leave if you dont like it.......... ;D ;D

a friend of mine goes hysterical when my cats try to be sociable with her. The more she screams the more they make a beeline for her hehe No-one could possibly tell them what to do- they do what they like and as was said- we are their slaves!!!

definately! PMSL xx
Hubby also bought a snake years ago, to keep her away. It worked a treat, but unfortunately, I kept having nightmares about it getting out and having babies all over the house! We gave her to a friend and MOTHER returned.......

MM, well said! What is wrong with people? Would they be sociable if, say, you pulled their hair? No! I don't think so. Cats are independant, soiltary creatures and I think that is completely and totally thier charm. When they come to you for cuddles it is on thier terms and because they love you, I for one would not want it any other way. If my friends do not like it that way, well they can stay away! (sorry did that sound ant-social?!)

Cat and discipline don't come into the same sentence! You are privileged to share you home with a cat, you can ask their opinion and try to please them but "Helloooo" you treat them with respect and hope they find you suitable company!

My friends are disgusted when they come round and see my cats sprawled out on the table and that they sleep in my bed but they are family members and wouldn't have them any other way!

Don't know what people would think of the things may cats get up to but they are totally and completely part of the family. My OH says 'no more animals!'. once these are gone we are not getting any more cats he says. He'll be going first, I say!!

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his Tongue.

I agree, tell them where to stick it.. cats are cats and will not be told what to do or where to go... thats why we love them
