A friends dog who is a 4 yr old bit*h keeps attacking her 3yr old dog for no apparent reason. This has been going on for the last 2yrs but is now out of control. She has had them both from puppies. She has had the dog behaviourist out without much help, she has also had some sort of calming tablets from her vet that made a difference for a couple of weeks. She is so upset and feels the bit*h will have to be pts as she is getting to the end of her tether as the bit*hes behaviour is so unpredictable. Please does anyone have any ideas of anything she may try to do or some herbal remedy that may help. Any ideas welcome.

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his Tongue.

without more infomration, its really hard to comment... first thing I would do is have the bit*h spated (if she isnt already) Also make sure the bit*h is well and has no medical problems...
What breeds are tehy!! Rage syndrome is not uncommon in some breeds, so would be worth checking that out
it sounds like she is trying to assert her dominance so the spaying thing may be an answer.
I once had a bit*h who really went for the younger bit*h once the younger one had reached maturity and she felt she was beintg thretened for leadership.
The owner must make sure she is the pack leader and both dogs are subserviant to her.
it could all be about pecking order...
might be worth trying a different doggy shrink.. also the DAP collars/diffuesers are good for calming down situations like this
what does the vet say!!

vet wasnt much help actually. She has diffusers. bit*h has been spayed shes a cocker spaniel and boys a parson jack russell. bit*h seems to react worse when friend is stressed and she has had a lot of probs recently. Shes done all the pack leader stuff. I suggested an electric collar when bit*h starts to growl before she attacks the boy dog? bit*h guards things! Even like a paper clip that she might find on the floor!!

hate to say it but cockers are reknown for RAGE syndrome.. my friend has had 2 with it (totally different blood lines) and both had to be PTS... might be worth exploring that. Try a different vet...

iv got to terriers who are like this, if they look at each other the wrong way they will go for it full on and im there grabbing them by the neck and there stilll holding on for dear life, some dogs are like this, sometimes its down to jelousy, and personal space bing invaded sometimes with mine it can be a noise they hear and they both jump down at the same time and that can start something, or even be playing nicely starts it off, but i personly i couldnt pts a healthy dog, i control mine as best i can as soon as theres any trouble i tell both off sternly and put them in there crates for some 'super nanny' time out,and on the whole instead of twice/three times a week fights just get one or two a month which on the wholes a great improvement lol i would suggest if she cant control her she should try rehoming to a only dog home, with perhaps people that have time to do things with her and shel just need to be muzzled on walks incase

Thanks for your comments. She is thinking of rehoming wants to do best for bit*h. bit*h doesnt do it outside of the house so I would think its a territory/jealousy thing myself but I've never had dogs only cats!
