Dont know if anyone could help but..I have a friend her horse has a beutiful mad to measure saddle as he has a crazy shape the only problem is hes Black and the saddle is tan..now she wants to start showing and its not ideal is there anyway you can change the leather or dye it instead of forking out a small fortune for a new saddle.. xx

Don't do it!! It will wear off and to change the colour of the leather is not going to work!!! The colour is done in the tanning while it is being drummed Its not like a pair of shoes!

m&m don't try and dye it, the colour will change over time and anyway the judge is looking at the horse not the saddle.

Keep oiling it, the leather will gradually darken.

Exactly whast I was thinking of saying. You need a rider with am ample posterior to cover the saddle up perhaps!!

Isn't there a product called something like kaoline (sp?) it comes in an old fashioned tin with some driving horses on the front(stupid the things you remember int it!) a riding school I used to work at once bought a bright orange saddle for a black cob, and her loaner used to rub that Kaoline stuff in and it darkened in no time.
