is there many peapoul ride shetties on here?,that hvent replyed you dont see so many kids inn this age range...manly tiny tots or adults! but i'd rather see an adul ride than a good pony be wasted all its life on a lead rain!

I'm a grown up - am I allowed to post in here? I have 2 little Shets, one is 34", the other and inch or two smaller. They're my daughter's ponies. She rides them off LR at the farm and at pony club, and has done a couple of novelty classes off lead, as well as loads on lead rein. Hopefully next weekend she will be doing her first FYFR class on one of them. She's 5 years old. Her older friends also ride the ponies - they're very versatile and are happy to plod along with a tot on board or go galloping on the beach with someone more experienced. Here she is at a show last September, when she was still 4yo, riding off lead in a Best Child's Pony class (they won!) And here are both ponies being ridden by 2 of the other kids on our yard in a Pairs class last summer: Although we also have a little Welshie, we've decided we love the Shets so much we're going to get a standard one. So I'm looking for a youngster now, to bring into our little herd and make sure s/he's kid proof before backing in a couple of years time. I want to get a pony expected to make 40"+, in the hope that my daughter will be able to ride it for years and years to come, well after growing out of our little ones. Shets are fab!

Hiya, yes, in my signature, my daughter is riding her Shettie side saddle! And we're definitely planning on breaking both the minis to harness soon. They will need a job to do once Cerys is too big to ride them, and I've always wanted a driving pony! They have a home for life with us.
