In SRT classes should it be a leather girth or white one?

I'm no expert but had a look at a few pictures of them and they all seem to be leather. On rehorses it says white is acceptable if your horse is grey rehorses.com/rp_rh.html

Thanks lozloz1 ..surprised to see what type should be like as after being judged end of last year the judge said ours was too pony fide/ show pony type..and this is what it states they should be on that site..

It's very much personal opinion - as with hacks and show ponies. Personally i prefer a leather girth on anything other than a grey as a white girth, imo, breaks the picture in half suggesting you may be needing to disguise something and can also accentuate a bit of a grass tummy... However, a large amount of people like the way it looks.

I think a nice atherstone or balding girth look fab. Many people try to use the white girth as way of standing out but sometimes this doesn't work in your favour!!!

I would say only use white on a grey, dark bay, liver chestnut or a black pony.

i was talking to my mum about this the other day and she's been in showing for roughly 25 years. and she was saying that all show ponies and hacks had white girths up until a few years ago. i was reading an old showing book and al the ponies(show) had white girths on.
