hi i have a coloured IDxTB, she is 15.3hh, need more muscle round her bum, i cant lunge at the stables im at at the minute (well i can, but shes coming back into work from a ligiment injury, and the pen we can lunge in isnt flat and not level which isnt ideal). i can only long rein or ride, my saddler is coming in a month so sort a saddle out. i was wondering do any people have any ideas on long reining and what type of things can i do? all i have done is walk her round the school and over poles and a bit like lunging but long reining, if you get me, if i have forgotten to put anything please ask me thanks help!

How about putting some cones out and making her bend around them - a little more interesting for her, do you have any hills near by? if you do then long rein her up and down them, that should build up her bottom

we've been doing serpentines and figs of eight, going to start then with some ground poles and then raise them to caviletti (sp?)
Was also going to suggest hills, but if you cant go out onto roads then i suppose thats a no go!
