i helped a lady out recently and she breeds ragdolls, she was looking at the pics through my canera and saw my cat pics so we started talking about her kittens and she GAVE me a pedigree kitten as it was birthday as well and my husband wouldnt let me have her.ive stamped my feet very hard and had the biggest pouts ever and he still wont give in.ive lost 3 cats in the last year due to old age and Lulu with her tumor which i reminded him of and he still wont give in.he is so mean

jasper1, that is hilarious! I have been tempted to do that to my OH many times. He is not an animal love at all. Have had to fight like mad to get any pets we have. He has said when our cats and goldfish are gone we are not getting any more animals. We'll see about that, I think! I was very naughty when we got our last kitten I said it would be put down if we did not give it a home, which was not the case at all as the lady in question loves her cats to pieces. He caved in then though. Heathers your OH sounds as if he allows more animals around the place than my OH would ever allow. All those beautifull ponies you have, my OH would divorce me in a heartbeat. Not that I am standing up for your OH as I think he should let you have kitten!!

Luckily my OH knows his place, and you have to know how to PLAY these men. Is there anything that HE wants atm?, let him have it , then he OWES you! Mind you even I am up to my limit, 4 cats , 3 dogs and various other four and two legged creatures is enough , (untill i catch sight of one of those albino hedgehogs!!!)

My OH was not fond of cats and insisted the cat went out every night, regardless of the worst of weather. I was at a friends house one night when she had a medium visiting. She asked "who is David? because his father has sent him a message to stop being horrible to the cat" I laughed and laughed, but thereafter the cat stayed IN at night and when he was PTS aged 18 after getting a cancerous lump it was my OH who gently held him and shed a tear when he buried him for me. There is good in husbands really!! Work on him!

as a male i think if you just ignore him, bring the cat home and after an initial sulk, he'l get over it, because he'l have no choice, i think if certain things that would def work! lol good luck

have an idea heathers will send you JJ for a week at the end you tell OH its either JJ permanently after hes wreaked your home demanded hugs all the time and sleep in the middle of your bed. Or a lovely new trainable kitten. JJ aka tree rat will be back with his mumma by day three.

My sister and her husband had 2 siamese, they have no children so they are their family. One died and my sister booked to have another one from a breeders litter. My brother in law went ballistic, told her on no account could she have another cat. They have been married 30 years and it really caused a rift. Well my sister went a head and got the cat and said if it came to it she would move out!! When it came down to it, he had been so upset about the old cat dying he could not bear getting attached to another one. They say women are funny. Of course he now loves the new cat and they are still together. Perhaps he doesn't like seeing you get upset when they are ill.
