My washing machine has gone on the blink. Keeps tripping out the electricity in the house. It's full of dripping wet half washed clothes.
I have some lovely friends who are helping out, but I have buckets full of dripping clothes, a bag full of wet clothes to put in the drier (it's raining), another bag full of clothes at my mums waiting to be washed, all of this is going to need ironing and I'm going on holiday on saturday!
Oh and I have an easter bonnet to finish for tomorrow. 'Aunt Flo' has chosen this morning to visit. and the back door of my car seems to have filled up with rainwater and sloshes everytime I brake.
I might just go and hibernate and pretend it's not happening, do you think it might all go away by the time I wake up?

I think chocolate or/and cake is required.....QUICK SMART!
These kind of days, happen to us all, but they are NOT to be taken lightly, or dismissed without sympathy!
When is the washing machine being mended?

Am waiting for diagnosis (OH having a look tonight). I fear it may be terminal. I have on OH's instructions poked a bit of wire into two little holes at the bottom of car door, and it has emptied itself of about a bucketful of mucky rain water. So at least that problem is solved. Drier is on, washer looking all empty and sad, and am just going to put the ironing board up. Actually I'm thinking of bringing it through here and watching sad daytime telly whilst I iron. There is in fact an emergency supply of chocolate in the top of the fridge where the kids can't reach, so all is not lost.

Poor MM. I hate it when your washer goes on the blink. Chuck the wet half washed clothes in the bottom of the bath and rinse thoroughly, then let all the water out, with nice clean feet get in the bath with wet clothes and stomp all the water out.
This will achieve 2 things 1, your clothes will be dry enough to hang up on your radiotors to dry, then chuck in tumbler to finish
2, you will feel a lot better for stomping on something!
P.S have you tried changing the fuse on your washers plug? Or tried plugging it into a different socket. That may work if it is tripping out your electrics.

Neighbour is going to let me rinse and spin the clothes after dinner, in her functioning washing machine. OH and friend (electrician), looked at it last night, couldn't make it work. They think it's the motor or the programmer. Am just hoping they don't find a bra wire wrapped round the motor, or I am in deep doo doo and condemned to a life of droopy bosoms. :-\

Well if your washer has had it, don't buy one of these eco things that say they wash 30 degrees and below, because they don't!
Bought a Whirlpool with this feature two months ago and thought, 'great, will save money and the environment'. The clothes came out covered in soap and conditioner (despite using liquid soap) so called engineer. Nothing wrong with the machine, I am just washing at too low a temperature! Err, derr, yes, but that is what it says. 'Well you get a build up madam so after a couple of 30 degree washes, you have to run on boil (2 hours!) empty to clear it out. Rather defeats the object.
Anyway, be of cheer, there are all those poor people in Scotland, snowed in they are!
ps, I have wet washing all over the house, peeing with rain.

Yes I suppose I really should look on the bright side, there are a lot of people who are having a crappier time than I am. At least I have lovely family and friends who are willing to help out, and at least I have chocolate to hand!!

Feeling for you mm. Our washing machine flooded the kitchen, water everywhere and I hate it when the dashed things go wrong! Sounds like a new machine is needed.
Up here we are watching snow flee past the windows on the teeth of a raging gale, and it's bitterly cold. There will be a disastrous loss of sheep and lambs.

Oooh. That's a proper bad day. I feel selfish now for having a whinge, when there are people out there losing animals because of the ridiculous weather.

Don't feel selfish mm. lol. I went stark raving when the washing machine flood happened here. Sending sympathy. I know how you feel.
Ridiculous weather it is. Central belt/ Highlands have three feet of snow in places, and flooding to go with it in the Borders. Some areas have only just got rid of the last lot and have had snow lying since Christmas. Electricity off now for many as well.
Summer time my foot! Hoping the first foals hang on that bit longer.

Well washing machine still not fixed. It is now displaying an error code in its little lcd display screen, on looking up the error code it says I definitely need an engineer and it's an electronic fault. Most of outstanding washing is done and dried, just have one wet load waiting to go in drier. I now have a mountain of ironing to do, I have to be in school tomorrow morning for Easter bonnet parade, then junior assembly to present my Mid Day Supervisor's awards. I might get chance to run home and let the dog out, and grab a sandwich, then back to work till 1.30. Then home to tackle the ironing pile before they all turn up home wanting feeding! I intend to watch the Masterchef semi-final tomorrow night but have a feeling I might fall asleep before the end!

Poor you mm. We had to get a new machine a few months ago! Ours was way past repairing. The drum was getting louder with every wash, then the next load.. the drum split open .! We had had it 11 yrs so it had been very good really. Did you watch Masterchef? Thought it was very good last night. Are you going somewhere nice on holiday? x

Oh no LP, does that meen you're going to have to spoil your perfect pink manicure washing up? I'd get the OH to sort it, princess hands and fairy liquid should never meet!
Luke3, yes I watched it and really enjoyed it, on again tonight so looking forward to that. Holiday is just my caravan at Filey, on a lovely quiet little site, all the kids are regulars so they're all friends. It's very peaceful and quiet, Millie comes too and we get a lovely break.

Oooo, MM i loves filey! Is a cracking little seaside town, very pretty and just busy enough without being hectic! OH's friend has one of those mobile home things that he says we can borrow (is a nice friend) whenever we want and we are talking about going up in the summer hols. Failing that OH keeps mentioning tent So we may see you up there! And if you have a nice static caravan I will be round if we're in the tent and it rains!

AMWAP mine's a touring caravan, albeit a big one (28ft), but if you want to know the name of our special site (we don't tell many people, it's our secret little haven), then PM me and I might be persuaded to tell you. We're going first two weeks in August

Ah, thanks nursey! Very nice man came and looked at washer this AM, it is the motor and will cost £100 plus to repair, so decided not to bother as the machine is about 5 or 6 years old anyway. Need to go shopping for a new one now.
