Struggling trying to find a neat velvet hat to show my ridden traditional coloured in. Currently using an old Charles Owen show hat which looks gorgeous, has a 3 point harness, but is black and I need a blue one. Have tried the H2000, but because of the thick padding it looks enormous on my head. The Beagler looks fab but of course doesn't meet current standards. I'm sure I read that Charles Owen are bringing out a slimmer velvet hat that meets current standards, anyone know about it? Alternately anyone recommend a neat hat that meets standards. I think as an adult I haven't got the hassle that junior members have, but I don't really want to go down the Beagler route as I believe that protection is important. On the other hand the H2000 looks ridiculous on me. Any thoughts?

I've just bought a Charles Owen Fiona for my daughter and it is a really nice shape , neat and superb quality velvet . Well worth a look if you are after a new hat. I paid £125 from my saddler.

Is it worth having your black one recovered with navy velvet? Gadabout on here does them.

Thanks for all your help. The Fiona is the hat I have heard about, was beginning to think I had dreamed it because it isn't on the Charles Owen website. But am very interested in getting one recovered. How do i get hold of Gadabout?

If you look along the very top of the page, you can click on 'members', then you can view by letter and scroll down till you find the member you are looking for. If you then click on their name their profile will come up, and along the top it says 'send personal message', if you click on that the rest is fairly self explanatory. Good luck!
