Bit of a stupid question probably, but how do you apply the frontline when using it to treat mites? Usually I apply it at the base of the neck, but I'm not sure if that's a "treat all" option or if I should be putting it directly on to heels if trying to treat mites. I've got a Frontline spray from vets as my coloured is doing a fair bit of stamping so I think she's got an itch

It has to be applied to a part of the body that the animal cant lick/bite so maybe inside hocks or right under the stomach

I use the spray - apply to clean dry legs and really rub in, then repeat in ten day and again in another ten days.
I keep my heavies free from mites with pig oil and sulphur - I do a very very long PM on this subject, if you want a copy, PM me an email address and I will send it to you letting you know all you could wish for and probably a lot you don't on the art of hairy legs in healthy show condition.

I think I've had that PM from you before qbc. I will probably switch back to pig oil and sulphur over the summer, but have been using Muddy Marvel over the winter as I find it more waterproof (we have a LOT of mud).
Any suggestions as to how much frontline you use per leg? Doesn't seem easy to work out how much is being used at once so maybe it needs to be a highly technical answer - like how many squooshes!!

Sorry, all I have done when I have used in on the odd occasion is enough spray to get the leg hair slightly damp and really into the skin.
The 500 ml size does two very hairy beasties for three treatments if that helps.
Also very good on itchy mane and tails I have found as well on occasion.
You won't forget my PM - longest one ever and I do set out how I do the frontline in that.
You may get away with a good dusting of sulphur and could be worth a try first as it is so cheap - it kills lice and mites, the oil makes them not want to live on the legs as well as protecting the hair from mud burn.
