At last, the mare we have in for foaling down has had a little filly (I hope, a quick look under the tail gave me that impression) at round about 10.20pm, so bang on really on the revised date. Mare was calm and relaxed at 9.30pm when I went for a bath, dragged all my bedding down, and there it was, a little brown sticky object, really strong and on her feet within 15 minutes. Going to keep checking all night as although there were lots of slurping noises coming from under mums hind legs, I'm not convinced there is a lot at the milk bar. Pics would be lovely, but after two grainy shots, my phone camera died. She is so tiny, about the size of a greyhound, but I'm so relieved she is here and on her feet. Here she is, mum is 11.3hh, so that gives you an idea of how tiny she is. She is still quite folded up.
