I need a good moan!! I'm in agony at the moment due to an impacted wisdom tooth and I have another tooth with an abcess behind it I've got an operation next week to have both things sorted out but I'm terrified as I've never had to have anything like this done before. I just had a huge vets bill through for something that i'd almost forgotten about and wasnt expecting it to be that expensive! (is it just me or do they leave it so long before they bill you that you've forgotten what you had them out for?). And i've got to spend over £300 on a pair of glasses that i need as my eyesight has gone to pot! At the moment I'm stuck at work (I don't like my job and am leaving in May) and I'm in so much pain I can't concentrate. I'm also trying to sell or loan my little pony and no-one wants her! Moan over Had to get it all off my chest!

i am completely dental phobic and had 4 wisdom teeth out in hospital under general anaesetic and it was fine, they will give you a pre-med so that by the time you go down to theatre you're on another planet!!!!. Why not try contact lenses - £30 a month direct debit - proper job Most vets will let you pay in installments if you ask them nicely!!!

Yeah dentist are quite kind now and you wont feel a thing. I agree with the vet bill point, seem to leave it weeks now and i tend to forget to. You will feel better once your teeth are sorted.XX

Dont worry about having your wisdom tooth out, I had two out a couple of months ago and don't like having a general so stayed awake! Didn't hurt at all, just stock up on pain killers and you will be fine.

Re glasses - I had to replace my very high prescription lense glasses last year. I put it off as my ancient pair had been so expensive (about £500) - expensive high index glass to make them less milk-bottle-like. I ended up going to Asda and getting 2 lovely pairs of designer glasses for £99 (for both pairs complete, not each), including the high index coated glass lenses!!! Excellent service and now I have a choice of glasses to wear, in addition to my contacts, which I wear most of the time. If you have an Asda optician anywhere near you, I'd definitely recommend checking them out

Poor you xx i had a similar moan on here a few weeks ago, everything seems to hit you at once often when you are at your lowest - hopefully you will have had your quota of hard times for a while now. Re your tooth op i think you are just so relieved that the pain stops that you get through the op no probs and you really wont feel a thing - my son had two teeth out last week without a problem (except dribbling for a few hours ha ha ).... is your pony on here ?? what are the details and i will ask around.
Keep your chin up.. xxxx

Thanks for all the kind comments I think i'm just a wimp when it comes to the dentist, will be glad when its all over! Can pay vets at end of the month when i get paid so thats not as bad as i first thought! Will have a look at asda soon - not sure if they have an opticians or not. Melons - yes pony is advertised on here she's a 12hh palomino welsh b. If I was small enough or had a jockey she wouldnt be going anywhere but she is far too good just to sit in the field. xx

Thanks Melons She really does have to go as I have decided to go back to college this September so I need to save some money! Also my gelding will soon be up for sale so if anyone is looking for a 15.3hh TB X Hanoverian.... My teeth are still absolute agony and I'm dreading the operation now. Hopefully I'll be back on here at the weekend to let you all know i've survived!
