Our mare is due to foal soon, but has been suffering from severe laminitis due to pregnancy. Vet came up tonight, and said she must not foal alone, as the foal may become distrssed due to her being under pain/pressure from the laminitis. We are going to start sleeping in lorry on the yard, but wonder if anyone can suggest alarm or something to alert us if anything happens. Have looked on alarm web sites, and they seem to be extremely expensive, as this is the first and last time we will breed from her due to her problems, just wondered if anyone can come up with a solution costing less that buying a new alarm? Many Thanks.
