Anyone know when our Area is holding their AGM? It's usually in October or November. Are there any points awards this year. Last year was very good and we were looking forward to meeting up with everyone at Bisham Abbey and rosettes. We haven't been sent a newsletter since the summer.

We've heard nothing either. No newsletter, agrnda or the year's accounts. There will have to be an AGM to re-elect officers and committee members for 2008.

Hi There Aimee, Please can you tell us when it is. We'd like to know as well. We want to find out why the rest of the committee stepped down. They were good people and the sort who worked hard for all of us. Must say from the outside it looks as though those left picked judges who'd give them tickets somewhere. Did look suspiciously like that from the outside especially as those who resigned and were pushed have never seemed particularly competitive. Thanks, Emm

Emma - aimee has provided a phone number to get further information. Please use that. If anyone finds out the date and wants to post it on here, then I can't see that being a problem.

I've spoken to one of the old committee today who said that the AGM has now fallen outside the required dates set out in the area constitution and everyone will have to be voted on again. As a member of Area 17 that can only be a good thing as we all need the chance to find out why people left and see the accounts. The gossip on that sounds extremely fishy. Personally I'd like to see a brand new committee with representative from in hand and ridden competitors and breeders.

At least someone in your Area had the sense to call and try to find out what is going on. If Aimee is secretary then surely she has put the information on your Area website by now if it's true the AGM time limit has been exceeded. If the present committee are confident about keeping their seats intact then they'll be open with their members and encourage them to attend the AGM to vote them back on. If Emma J is correct then officially Area 17 doesn't have a committee at the moment as they have exceeded their time in office. Hope Dave Bright goes back and keeps them all in order Keep it up Area 17 members. This is making very interesting reading.

Perhaps Aimee's waiting to see if she gets the Chief Exec post? She told plenty of people she applied to be NPS Treasurer. Looking forward to seeing the area 17 accounts as well. Why did the treasurer step down?

Emma J - Lets hope that you dont stand the last thing people want is sly, underhand, two faced, gossipy people on their committee. Exactly tigercub. That is why Area 17 needs a new committee voting on. As things stand at the moment there are 1 or 2 current committee members that feel they can gain from their position not only in area 17 but in the NPS as a whole. Im not saying anything we don’t all know already really am I.

Help I haven't been on here for a long time. Tiger Cub and Emma J need their heads knocking back into friendship. Both have niggled each other and it's time they made up. Only the best of friends squabble. You two are both as bad as each other! Agree with Green Grass that a completely new Committee needs to come together in Area 17 and work for the benefit of your Area members. I'm fortunate to be in a very happy, strong Area. You have some great people in your Area to call upon to join up. We heard the nice people and the respected ones did step down from your Area and I doubt if they will return. They seem busy people. Some active, friendly, fair members from various sections of showing aught to put themselves forward to form a new committee with PONIES being the reason and NOT PRIZES. Good luck to everyone at Olympia. Cheer us on to win again.

Areas are supposed to be a voice for the societies head office if anyone feels their areas are not acting in the members best interest they are very welcome to stand for a place on the committee. I am a member of Area 20 and find the committee very approachable. I hope Area 17 get together and between them create a committee with the area members support that is of use to everyone

Funny so much interest in Area 17. When I've been to the AGM peviously you are lucky if 20 people are in the room I beleive Emma J that if your "friend" checks the area constitution and speaks to the NPS (as I have done) you will find that the AGM has to be held within 15 months or before Feb 2008.

You're right about 15 months so they'll have to hold it by February aand give their members 6 weeks notice. They had a full house last year . Looked about 60 plus there. Best ask David Hinde because he was the speaker. We'll go again.

Are we having an AGM? Everyone looks to have been left in the dark. Well done to Lisa Barsoum for keeping the Area 17 flag flying at Olympia.

Looks like the present committee and officials must now be null and void? We've heard nothing about the AGM and neither have the committee. We were told that six weeks notice had to be given and it has to be held within 3 months max which is up the second weekend in February. This hasn't happened so should we reform?

Area 17 members. Are you one of the select few to have been emailed information on the forthcoming AGM? No six weeks notice, no points awards, no minutes, Sunday venue. :-/Is this a joke?

If it was a joke it sounds a pathetic one. It's about time those who thought they were good enough to take over and push the others out did something for their members and not themselves.

What would you do for their members? Maybe you should contact the committee and make suggestions to help them or even join them, rather than constantly slag them off. Whether you think them to be right or wrong!!!!!!! Out of interest have you ever offered your help - I doubt it, but that is your choice. Obviously be an interesting AGM and I think its a good idea having it on a Sunday, BSPS Area 7 did just that

We were informed at last year's AGM that the previous committee had ideas for stud visits, socials and stuff other than shows so everyone could join in.
Not sure if we'd want to be associated or offer help the present lot after they caused the others to be pushed or step down. Would you? If those who went came back we would put our names down straight away.

It would be so fitting (excuse the pun) if they had found the mole at last.

Mole may be ME but "fitting" definitely not. The Punned one did send us and others the email because fittingly she was unable to open it. We have decided to keep that person in the dark and not tell her what we read whilst we do some Detective work to find out who is spreading the muck.

Names? Bad choice! Aren't Republicans likely to lose out at election time. Wigit? No wrong again. Young Buck here. Like a Bush you're Berking up the wrong Tree. When is the AGM? Are we missing the point of this thread?

Well that is a good point, Demo. What is the point of this thread?
If you have a point which you wish to discuss, fair enough. But it seems to me that you are making veiled remarks directed at one or two individuals. There is a phone number at the top of the thread if you require information about the agm. Please keep on topic otherwise the thread will be locked.
