We are thinking of putting our 7yr old 13.2 reg pba/pbw in foal ourselves but very undecided what to put her to so just wondered if anyone knows of any good stallions that you think may suit her preferably based in the north of england as we're based in East Yorkshire. We're also unsure what sort of pony we want to breed so are open to suggestions. She is 50% arab and 50% welsh (c) with a super temperament. These pics are of her at Royal London 2008.

Thank you paulal :-) she is a pretty little girl and so sweet, just unfortunately been very messed up being ridden after being on loan for 12months so we think she needs time out, hence putting her in foal.

She's stunning, but I would suggest really thinking seriously before breeding - there are so many horses out there, and it's not straightforward. Not wanting to sound overly negative, just thinking of other angles xx

lovely. i think you should put her to a homozygous coloured traditional to get a coloured native type or a coloured middle weight plaited
lol lol lol

It really depends what you are wanting, ie: a horse or a pony? i personally think a nice anglo arab or tb would cross very nice with her, i am bias though as i just love the welsh/tb/arab bloodlines!!! all my competition line are that cross, and all very talented!! think carefully before you breed though as it can be so very rewarding but also with no guarantees! best of luck whatever you decide

Thank you for your replies everyone. We have thought long and hard about what to do with her and the best option we feel for her is to be put in foal as we think she will make a fantastic mum and hopefully it'll give her the break she needs to come back into work in a year or so's time and have forgotton about the experiences she has recently had. She is far too good to just be turned away for a year doing nothing and we think we could breed something nice off her. We are thinking of maybe trying to breed a coloured pony, a plaited one as there aren't a huge amount of them around and with her temperament it would be a great childs pony. I think we would rather breed something no bigger than 14.2 and definitely a plaited x

Thank you stormyskies! we'll have proper look at the links tonight! I think we'd like something on the finer side rather than something to heavy although a nice little coloured hunter pony would be nice to!

his stud card makes me laugh though - there is no gypsy or common blood in his pedigree! Heaven forbid!!!!

Daydream stands with us he is 14.2hh (owned by Lostock stud) and is a fabulous stock producer alongside being a fantastic person, he is also now available with SPSS covering cetificates.
Acado is owned also by Lostock stud and again is a fabulous stock producer he has the added bonus of being homozygous and of a fantastic temperament his foals have been superbly marked.
We have Bathleyhills Dream In colour by him and she is super!!!!!!
