I really hate spiders and this one is the biggest spider I have ever seen. Every three or four days it comes out from wherever it lives and climbs up the wall at the end of my bed. What would you do with it!

I am terrified of them, only thing is when you suck them up with a dyson you can see them spinning around then i feel mean. At the moment I have one living in my landrover car side mirror, they are the electronic type of mirrors and every morning I wake up to a new web attached from mirror to car door, uhhh yuk, hubbie has tried bless to get spider out but it just lurks in the gap between the plastic and the mirror. I am shocking because all the time I am driving I can see it looking at me out of the corner of my eye, and find myself looking for the spider and not ware I am driving. Doesnt half catch some flys though as I drive along.

I am terrified, I was in bed the other night when the biggest hariest spider i have ever seen ran accross my pillow. My scream woke my hubbie up who fell out of bed thinking we were being robbed and he then had to spend an hour chasing the fastest spider in the world. i then wouldn't let him kill it so he put it outside!!

I think I got bitten by one in the barn today, I was reaching round a big bale for hay when filling nets and felt like I'd been stung by a nettle, got into the light and there are two very tiny punctures, about 3mm apart on my finger, it has'nt swollen but is really painful. It happened once before when I picked up some washing in the laundry room, and dropped it really quicky and this big spider scuttled out. Until then, I did'nt know Spiders over here bit you!!

Is there anything which spiders don't like? I don't want to kill them or anything live and let live, but I don't want them living with me! On the radio it suggested conkers! If you put an ordinary conker in the corner of each room this will keep spiders away. Sounds wonderfully easy, has anyone any experience of this? Or any other ideas?

My knight in shining armour came to my rescue and my tarantula got caught and put outside a few days ago.
On the shopping channels, liked Bid TV, they sell these things you plug in that omit little noises and vibrations through the wiring system in your house that we can't hear but insects, mice etc can and they don't like it so they pack their bags and leave your house apparently. Dogs and cats aren't supposed to be affected by them, I'm thinking of getting some and giving them a try.

Someone told my Father about the conker phenomina as we have a huge arachnid dwelling in the downstairs loo. We haven't the heart to do anything nasty to it and as it lives in a little crack in the corner and dissappears quickly, we can't catch it.
Anyway, went in there yesterday and it's made a lovely little web over the conker! I suppose it's the next best thing for a spider as giving the finger!

I don't mind spiders at all. Usually remove them if they are in the way by letting them climb onto a towel and then shove them out side. The one in the vehicle's a d**ned nuisense. Its predecessor got shut in the door!

i would catch it in a glass or some other container, slide a piece of paper under the container, creating a box with the spider inside and throw it out the window

oh god am sooooo scared of them ......i cant go out and leave one in the house as then you get home and you dont know where it is ......! Last year i got up at three Am to go to Cheshire county and there was one on the ceiling ...my other half wwas working away in America and i had to deal with IT alone ..... so i summond all my courage and tried to hit it with a farmers guardian ( longer than the average paper ..so not as near to said spider ) .....didnt reach ....so stood on a document case to get a bit nearer ( by this point am crying and hyperventilating cos have to keep looking at it ) ....managed to eventually hit it ....but fell off the box and banged my head on the wooden bed and nearly knocked myself out !!! its so silly but i really am THAT scared of them ! !

Millie likes to play with them too! But she can't understand why they stop playing after being spat out a time or two! Keeps pushing them with her nose to make them get up again!

None of the above.. even though i hate them i would put a container over them slip card board or thickish paper underneath then take it outside! dont see the point in killing them.. they eat all the nasty flys!
