My mare Ona ( Small-land Bellona ) lost her foal at birth last year However she recovered well and went to Danwood Little Star at Dowhills ( teddydogs stud ) where she had a fantastic time and didnt want to come home I assumed she was in foal as she never came back into season but she has 40 days left to go and she isnt fat at all she just looks normal So have just rung the vet and hes coming out to have a look at her on Monday at 4.30. He said as she hasnt got long to go the foal will be so far down the scan might not show anything So he may have to get his hand in there. Please can you all send in foal vibes down to Devon as fast as possible ;D

Oh best of luck brindle.
A lady I know, sent her mare to stud to be put in foal last year. While it was there, waiting to come into season - it foaled down!
She had been covered several times the previous year, but didnt take (so they thought) and was getting run down with a virus, so they gave up. She never re-gained the weight over the winter either, so no hint of a foal being in there.
Everyone was gobsmacked, but in a nice way! xxx

One of my As was broken last year at 10yo, first thought was to be a bit huffy at being expected to work but soon settled to it and is now out showing and doing really well.
