Blue Riband is a lovely class to qualify for though you do have a choice of not doing it and instead competing in the 'Challenge' class. Tends to have the better end ponies in due to the location of the qualifiers. Nice format and the final 10 get to do a freestyle show in 2 minutes and get marked ice skating style by three judges one of which is a horsey celebrity one- go for it!

overatdaknee, are you saying this is how they do the blue riband judging or the challenge. what is more prestigious?? sorry for being thick lol It is how they judge the blue riband. The blue riband only has a certain number of shows where you can qualify that are listed on the BSPS website so not usually as big as the challenge classes. In the blue riband there are no restrictions - other than you must qualify for it - whereas in the challenge you must not have qualified for HOYS so as far as being 'prestigious' your blue riband class is mainly made up of HOYS ponies/horses if that is how you want to measure it x
