The Douglas Bader film was 'Reach for the Sky' with Kenneth Moore. I remember going to watch it as a small child.
Anmyone watched 'Goodbye, Mr. Chips' with, I think, James Stewart? Very touching.
The original B&W version of Whistle Down the Wind with Hayley Mills as a 12/13 year old girl is absolutely wonderful and the music is really special. If it's on over Christmas DO watch it.
TBH anything with John Mills in is great.

John Mills - my favourite is 'Hobsons Choice'. I love this film but i cant remember what it is called. She lives with her husband who has OCD, in a beautiful house next to the see, she fakes her own death, but he finds out. He finds her wedding ring down the toilet.......Are there enough clues....

The Sixth Sense - with Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment. Did you work out the twist at the end?
I can't watch the other film with the same kid in it - AI Artificial Intelligence - don't know what it is but I got about half an hour into it and had to switch it off - I just found it really upsetting!

Halfpass - you'll feel so much better for it - when you take a look around and it looks like Kim & Aggie from 'How clean is your House?' have been in!!!
