Quick query about the Windsor coloured classes today - there seemed to be a conformation judge change after 3 of the 4 ridden sections had been completed, which I didn't think was allowed? Doesn't really seem fair on the competitors? Did the original conformation judge fall ill/have a mishap or is this common practice?

There was a judge change on the Windsor web site for coloureds, ride Miss Hart had been injured so Mr Van Prague stepped in as ride judge and Miss Hart replace C Hamilton as Con judge. Don't know if that helps?

As far as I could tell from the ringside, Mr Van Praagh rode judged all the classes and Ms Hart conformation judged three of the four, with Ms Hamilton stepping in unannounced to do the conformation for the last class. I understood from speaking to some competitors that they were not aware of the change until they were already in the ring, hence my query. All three judges then returned to judge the championship so I can only assume that Ms Hart was not unwell/did not suffer a mishap?

Odd and rather unsavoury for judges to be swapping for no good reason - if there was a good reason competitors should have been informed. Just out of interest - has CHAPS ever had a different Chairman? ?? and if not - why not?

No chaps have never had a change of chairperson cos everyone is scared to challenge C Hamilton !!! Unfortunately she uses chaps to settle her little differences with people so she will not give it up lightly!

Perhaps Ms Hart had an interest in an animal brought forward and she did the correct thing of stepping down and not judging the class?

It's not the correct thing for the judge to stand down. The competitor should not come forward!!! I believe Mrs Hart had an injury. Best leave it at that.
