I had a Wintec years ago as I was in the same situation as yourself, and LOVED it. I have recently had to buy another one as a few horses down the line I find myslef in the same stuation AGAIN Having ridden in it a few times I find that I still love it. Very comfortable and also lightweight for the horse. I bought a flocked one on the recommendation of my backlady as she thought it more beneficial to the horse. I hav not had to change the gullet yet, but if memory serves me right it is simply done by removing 3 little screw with an alankey, changing the gullet and then doing screws up again. I don't think the back of the saddle changes at all, but then I would expect to find very little difference in a medium and medium wide leather saddle f.ex. THB I think with an ex-racer you can't really go wrong...... Someone on here had a very cheap one for sale- flair1 I think!

I have leather Bates saddles with the changeable gullets and love them. Sorry I don't like synthetic sadddles at all and although they are cheaper to buy, they are pretty worthless secondhand.

have the wintec and think it's fab. Have both a dressage and a gp. Had to change the gullet yesterday - it was very easy to do Would recommend them x

Wintec gullets MUCH easier to change than the Bates (Dressage anyway). WOW gullets need to be changed by a saddler.
Does anyone know whether anyone makes a leather show saddle with interchangeable gullets?

I have recently brought one for a 4 year old, who at the time when I got him was in quite poor condition, and after trying countless saddles, I got a Wintec 2000, knowing he was going to change shape, and he has. I am really suprised by this saddle as I have never liked synthetic ones before, but it is really confortable and you can sit into it.
