The plant catalogs have started coming through the door just wondered if there is any one else who plant up the stables, we have hanging baskets everywhere and big planters all around the school fence which is at the front off the stables. I have to say I do tend to go mad as I do like things color co-ordinated going from light to dark colors and this year we have decided to plant up the chicken runs with some nice dwarf trees,I do like every thing looking colorful for the summer, so I was just wondering if others are the same or is it just it a me thing?

Well the extent of my gardening expertise is to bung the mother in law 20 quid, and give her the empty hanging baskets. They come back filled, sorted and looking lovely bless her!!! Other than that, its all lawn or block paving!!!

MM you have disappointed me I thought you would be the one with the green fingers, Ive spent the last few days getting the greenhouse sorted ready to start the seeds off re potted the fuchsias and the geraniums, I shall grow all the lobilia and busy lizzie from seed and everything else I will buy in as plugs and I try to buy some new shrubs every year. I do admit I'm a bit of a plantie at heart and I do like to see a mass of flowers around the stables during the spring and summer, if I had a little more time I would love to have a veggie garden but that will have to be something for a later date maybe when I retire

I sure could but thats something completely different. I just think that when the plant books start to come through the post it means spring is on the way and that means SHOWS, I just get giddy with excitement.

If you hang the banana skins on the tomato plants, I'm reliably informed it will help ripen your tomatoes.

what a lovely day to day, all that sunshine and really warm planted all the tubs with winter pansies and put in some nice shrubs in don't know what they are called but really pretty the leaves are edged with pink. OH was knocking down the old Chicken houses ready to landscape that area the terrier was sitting in hope that a few rats would make a run for it and was very disappointed as not one, found one squashed one under the big shed. So we are only guessing that the hoards that appear when we feed the chickens must be coming from the fields. My god we lead such a high powered life the most exciting thing in my day is standing outside the chicken houses with a big shovel ready to flatten any errant rat that sticks its head out of its home, who says we don't know how to have fun in the country.

OK seahorse for your small garden go for shrubs they very much look after them selves go for evergreens and ones the flower in the summer that way you get all year round color with very little work. As for you stephjw1 We tried to grow lobilia from seed and it was not at all successful so we buy all our plants as plugs will give you the E-mail address of the company that we use and its so easy you just put the order in and they send them just before they need to be planted the plants are very healthy and we have had some wonderfull displays. www.mirrorgarden.co.uk This would also be good for you seahorse.

that all sounds great I could be a real Diva. bet I could put J Lo in the shade, but do you think the world is ready for the Halfpass super diva yet, BBC 2 would have to put a warning on before the show started, "this program could damage your mental health take 2 valium before watching"

You could have pay-per-view, poor old Alan Titchmarsh would have no viewers left. Don't know what time slot they would give you but it would have to be half-passed something!!!
Edited to add - could you have Tommy Walsh as your first guest? And can I have a backstage pass please? Maybe this should be in the wierd crush thread!! And Dermot Whatsisname, the irish fellow the week after?
