Well our mare has been bagged up now for a couple of weeks - wax and looking like leaking pre foaling milk - with signs of dried milk or sticky hair on her lower hind legs?? Keep reading all the breeding chit chat and getting myself far too excited - although after my daughters 21st party last night feeling a bit delicate and tired for a 24 hour foal watch lol x excited.com - is the hour upon us???

If your mare has lost a lot of colostrum it might be worth asking your vet if the immune status of the foal should be checked just in case.

she is a 15 hand thoroughbred and the daddy is a coloured stallion called Smooth Design.

thanks sarap - i dont think she has lost a lot otherwise my daughter would be on for a vet - just keeping a close eye on her now. we have stables at home and cctv is in her stable.

ummm my daughter Jade has been up all night - well she eventually got to sleep about 5ish this morning and nothing else has happened!!! Am at work and not heard anything else lol x really thought she would go last night. Will just need to check that she has not run a lot of milk - hopefully all ok with her x like you have said in previous posts - shes carried all this time - it will be delivered in her own time! She was text book really last year so hoping and praying same this year.
