I just wondered if any of you had a home remedies for helping to temporarily reduce windgalls. Bandaging can obviously help, but do you have any "trade secrets" to pass on that can also assist.
Thanks in advance

Put some news paper in the freezer the night before a show, put it on in the morning and bandage over the top, take it off before your class- use the daily mail though as the ink wont come off lol!!!

We used to clay, brown paper and bandage our show cob mares the night before a show.
Have heard that cabbage leaves under bandages work aswell.

There is a feed supplement from (i think) global herbs for windgalls - used to bandage the night before shows or use aerborn cold boots, but when feeding this stuff, didnt need to bother.

My mares legs only produce windgall type swellings prior to her coming in season...poss water retention just like us!! Once she is showing season they have disappeared, gone down again.

I've always found that a good blast up a hill reduces the swelling in my ponies legs. not sure if they are true windgals though
