Very confused, thread in results section shows that K Jerram won a sfas class. I thought producers/ previous hoys entrants were not allowed in SFAS classes or am I incorrect?

It says Katie Jerram was placed in an ex racers class - that would be totally separate from the SFAS classes I think, so different rules.

Oh, how confusing! Is that the only way ex racers can get to hoys in their own class?

Well the ROR classes have their own rules regarding if the horse has actually been in training or on a racing yard. But TB's can compete as hacks etc., regardless of if they have been raced. I'm not sure if there's ever been a top hack that's been in training, it would be interesting to know.
Not really my 'thing' so not sure of all the ins and outs - but there's bound to be someone on here who'd know!

Shahzan House did very well in hacks - before he'd even done any ex racers; think he was 4th or 5th at HOYS. Sure there are plenty of other ex racing stars out there!

The schedule for the ROR is seperate from SEIB search for a star, so prob different rules.

Lots of show hacks are ex rachorses now and in the past. Last year 3 of the ex racehorses who were placed in the ROR HOYS class also qualified RIHS hacks and at least one of them had been at the HOYS as a hack previously.

Just to clairfy the situation - the SEIB ex-racehorse class is open to both amateurs and professionals and is run under different rules to the SFAS competition.

If it was Night Prayers that qualified then very well done!
The SEIB Racehorse classes are totally separate to the Search for a Star classes.

yes it was Night prayers, our novice hacks first ever class was the ror at the BSHA spring show, where he qual for hickstead final, and since then he was 4th in large novice hack class at Windsor. several hacks have raced and make the transition very successsfully. anyone can ride rors , not restricted to amateurs etc

That is very confusing, but very sensible as they use the same venue for all the seib stuff. I'm going to take a trip and watch these qualifiers as my first love is tb's, I have seen some fab ones recently. minkara your's is amazing. I am really looking forward to watching these classes.
