Lovely pics. I was enjoying a similar time with my foal yesterday, but sadly there is never anyone around to take pics unless it's me!

You are right they are all so differant!!! we once had one that did not want to be fussed as a foal but became the softest pudding around when she was older ;D I agree about the pics, there is normally no one around when those special moments happen

I agree lesleyA, I have to be careful now because due to Eddie (elmdale eduardo) deciding he was going to be a large hack and not a small one he is back with me!!! Melissa really wanted a small hack as her stables and facilities only really cater for a small horse, she did try and look round for a new yard but it would have been to expensive so we offered to buy him back. I am pleased as we really felt saddened when he left us but also feel sorry for melissa who had really got to love him (who could`nt love the edster!! ;D) I believe she has since bought a new yearling smaller than eddie who now stands at 14.2h at just 1yr old!!! I have thanked her for letting me have first option of buying him back and promised to keep in touch and let her know how eddie is, and also wished her every success with her new horse. here he is....growing fast!!!! Elmdale eduardo!!!

Hi Verena, The pictures of Eric are gorgeous, he is a spitting image of Eddie. Love the pictures of Eddie too, he still looks cheeky as ever!!!!!
Wilma is doing great and settled in really well, she will be making her showing debut next weekend, just to see what she does, fingers crossed. She is smaller then Eddie, as she is expected to make 14.2HH,but her full sister is 15HH, so we will see later on down the line. she is by Stanley Grange Royal Appointment and he is 15HH, so we will have to see.
I will post some pictures of her when she is all done up.
I hope you have lots of fun with Eric and Eddie as I am sure they will be keeping you very busy!!!!!!

What lovely pictures. I hope everyone who is worrying about impending births looks at these and takes heart that the good times far outweigh the bad. Congratulations on a gorgeous baby.

Thankyou kayjayem, that is so positive and brave after all you have been through. And yes you do have to move on although you think you never can, my foals dam (amy) lost a full brother at birth (dystocia) incorrect positioning, he was presented with three feet first, i knew we were going to loose the foal as this is an almost impossible situation and because i was there we were able to save the mare" tara", who is now still with me at the ripe old age of 32yrs!!! Seeing eric and being able to cuddle him does not bring back the foals you have lost but proves that foaling is still such a wonderful thing to share with your mare.
