Could somebody please tell me how you calculate a due date for an in foal mare. I know its roughly 11 months but say she was covered on 30th June 2009 when is she due to foal (date). Thanks in advance

Thats good!!!
i always work on 340 days and what i do is work on 1 year from the covering date with is 365days and just deduct the 25days for the due date. Amy went 339 days.

I work on 11 months 3 days- not usually far out did she run with the stallion or do you have an exact date?

Ho owl covering cert says 29th June 09 last day of service , has been scanned 3 times and all say in foal, and i can see the foal "bouncing" about albeit not for a day or 2,she is at the mo 344 days in foal Sallie PS she is a maiden mare

so that would make her around 2nd june- and they can be 3 weeks late quite easily- especially maidens as easy as they can be 3 weeks early- I'm afraid you will just have to wait and see- so long as there is no discharge and she appears normal- eating drinking- pooing. My old tb mare always went 1 year and 3 days. Keep us posted, but all sounds fine to me- let her go out and wander about- is she bagging up- ahah thats another story! I've just had a maiden mare foal- no bag at all- it came within the hour
