I'm riding a friend's pony in a HOYS qualifier in a few weeks.
Schedule states that riders must be registered with NPS/BSPS/PUK. Does the society have to be the same as what the pony is registered with or can I join a different one? Only ever done HOYS qualifiers on my own pony so we were all registered with BSPS.
Or can we wait and if we do qualify (we can hope!) register within 7days or whatever the time limit is? Or do you have to enter the ring already registered?
Thanks

this was a big qu with a friend at the weekend who had rung the NPS who apparently blissfully unaware of the HOYS rule change (although I think it changed last year) as there was a very quick joining of jockey's to the Dales Pony Society on our yard when we realised a week before our first and only qualifier at Monmouth last season (we qualified first time out - won't manage that again!!!!)
I would ring the HOYS office but in my mind as long as you are a member of something it doesn't matter which one and not necessarily the same as the pony as that is not what is stated int he rules

OK thank you! So as well as bsps/nps/puk I also have to be a member of the breed society? The pony i'm riidng is a welsh so I will have to be a member of the Welsh pony and Cob Society?
