One of my ponies is heavy and pulls on your right hand, regardless of what rein you are on. Can anyone help?

I use to have to same problem. This sounds silly but I use to ride with a egg in my right hand when riding so if you put abit of pressure it cracks, so it soon goes gets into your head not to be so heavy. Trust me it really works!! Good luck!

This might sound weird but let go of your right rein completely & ride with your legs & Left hand. It is tricky but it really works It also gets your pony to respond & listen to your leg more xx

yeah I agree with iluvmyponies. My friends horse sometimes pulls on the left rein so she drops her rein completely. He sometimes trips when she does this but that's ok because he just gets a bit unstable.

Yes I have found it a vicous circle! Sometimes if I try to be as light as posible he then takes the p*** by speeding up so I have to steady him again. Sometimes he doesn't do it at all lol!

Obviously have a word with the dentist first.
Then talk to your instructor, you should be able to slow your pony with your posture alone without use of the rein at all. Certainly at least in the school that amount of control is what you try to achieve and it is not correct for a pony to speed up simply because he is given the rein. Speed up (change of rhythm/pace) comes from the posture and a small amount of leg.
So I think that once the pony's schooling has improved you won't have mouth problems like this.
