What type of girths do you use for your cobby types? i.e the fuller figure with low withers? Elastic end, double elastic or fixed?

Professionals Choice girth can't rate it highly enough, has elastic at both ends but no need to over tighten or stretch the elastic. Keep saddle firmly in place without cutting pony in half can even hop on from the ground I have this problem even with a saddle fitted by the saddle company....so the PC girth is most DEFINATELY worth the money

For everyday I use an Aerborn elastic both ends, shaped girth. POny is superwide and this works well sits comfortably for him. They are only £18 on ebay and you just wipe them clean.

I have one in a Professional Choice and one in a thorowgood as he took an allergy to the Professional Choice so be careful as expensive to buy.
I like at least one side elasticated, but my excellent saddler advises no elastic girths are best for flat barrels.

Yes have also heard the thorowgood ones are good S&O although my saddle fitter tells me it should be two sides elastic or none, one side is a big no, no.

Thanks for the replies. I've heard mixed views of the single side elastic. And general view of saddlers to be negative?

I can't remember her exact words but I think it unlevels the saddle as it's uneven pressure because the elastic at one side has some give whereas the other side doesn't.....no idea if that makes sense
