Have we lost our karmas again? Just that I can't see the exalt/smite below any posts any more, is this just me or is it everyone else as well?

It could be that some people start a thread moaning and making a big deal when ever they lose a karma.

i think that if we are going to have karmas then people need to be mature and sensible about them. It is not the end of the world if you loose one, or even two! Having karmas doesnt mean you are the most popular, knowledgable, succesfull, horsey person in the world. Not having many karmas doesnt mean that nobody likes you. They are probably the least important part of this board and yet people get so upset by not only being smited, but also by 'she/he's got more than me' or 'they give each other karmas cos they like each other' or 'I've been smited by someone and I know who it is and they are not playing nicely'. People have moaned in the past about the 'friendly chat' thread that I post in quite a lot and the fact that in there we give and receive karmas for silly reasons like having a bad day or getting our ironing done. But we post in there every day at least, as well as all of us contributing in a positive and helpful manner (IMO) in lots of different other threads. if you havent got many karmas then maybe you dont contribute very often to this board? Or maybe people just dont like or see the point of your threads? Or maybe you make so much fuss about loosing 1 that people think it is amusing to keep doing it to wind you up? Lots of people like karmas and lots of people dont. But it seems to me that some people wont be happy until they are gone for good. And at least if we don't have them it stops a lot of the squabbling and moaning that goes on. Or maybe we should just ban moaning about Karma's? what about seeing what the vote says and if it says that more people want them than don't, then instead of banning karma's we have a new rule on this board that any thread started about 'Yay, I have a gizilion karma's' or 'boo, I've been smited again' are removed and the person starting the thread looses 10 karma's for moaning? Just a thought!

I had quite a lot which was very nice. However, remember karmas came with smites and a lot of people genuinely found it very upsetting to be smited. Often people were smited as personal vendettas. If we don't have karmas, we can still say thankyou, well done, etc., but instead of smiting people will have to say their piece or shut up, effectively there can be no more stabbing in the back.
So for that reason as well as the fact some people avoid disagreeing or posting at all in case they get smited I am happy with the decision to remove them.

I'm glad in a way they've gone, one less thing to moan about.
Now if the mods could get rid of bad judges, cheats, cold weather, hot weather, rain(or no rain whichever), professionals winning, etc etc etc........................................

if used correctly I think they would be OK,but for a long time now I dont think they have. This problem has been going on for a long time and allthough I decided not to let it bother me that someone was getting great pleasure from smiting me,some people might not be able to have my attitude.I must admit it did worry me in the beginning, but then I realised how childish it was,as I had never ever posted any thing that could have possibly upset anyone, and that is when I decided I was going rise above it.

This matter always goes round in circles on here - AMWAP makes very good points but they have all been said before and everyone agrees they will use them properly and then seems to forget.
I don't care whether we have them or not, but I am totally bored reading all the "woe is me, I've been smited" posts. There is no balance to them as members are happy to have karmas given meaninglessly (if there is such a word!) but complain if someone smites them......all the complaining makes me want to smite them! As mods we get smited all the time, but if you take it with a pinch of salt or sense of humour, it should be tolerable!

karmas? you can creep up people's bums and get karmas, or, call it as it is, whether it offends or pleases. that's been my policy all my life and it's mostly served me well. there are times when it's common decency to moderate a viewpoint, no one wants or needs to be delibrerately offensive. Poor Sam Roberts has broken her leg. natural human empathy with that disaster gets people to wish her well, most, probably all, mean it. Bet most are thinking. THAT GETS HER OUT OF THE WAY FOR 6-8 WEEKS. True or not? Anyway Sam, I genuinely wish you a speedy and full recovery. Just not too speedy! ;-) Gxx

Wouldnt mind so much to be honest if was smited for what i was posting, but i got hammered for NO reason i hadnt even done anything or said anything to warrant it at all and yes peed me off that people from other forums feel the need to delibratley come on here to smite me, to do with my role in the show i organise, As usual its a few that ruin it for the many, so we are just to sit there and take it ?? fair nuff smite me once if you dont like what i am saying that is RELATED to what i say on Horse Gossip, but just because you dont like me, they way i do things, on facebook, saddlesoap or elsewhere, then i think you should keep your finger off the smite, I like karmas, i like to give when deserved and have rarley smited ( just one who i know was doing it to me many moons ago, but thought touh its not worth it and i hated doing it so didnt bother) Losing one or 2 yes hey ho so id life, but i lost over 10 ib a day to petty people when i hadnt even posted anything controversial !!!!!

Its marvellous this new karma system. You don't see the numbers of the screen so no one gets jealous and zips one away. Smites aren't allowed anyway and you can give as many as you like and are not confined to just one an hour.
So for all the people who have posted on here, I just given each one of you a karma.

I think the reason why people get so upset is because, they haven't said anything to offend anyone (or at least they think they haven't) and then they are smited for it and they don't know why x
