She's an old one, and she ought to be in your poll(!) but Mytilene was simply superb when she was on the whp scence-won HOYS twice, went champion once(2001?), RI champ, BSPS Champ-absaloutle fantastic, far too may wins to mention-seriously, she was a cracking pony, would love to know where she is now xx

hi all, i agree mytilene was simply the best and won every major championship there was to win. She is retired now and is back with the breeder in ireland. She has breed several foals already so keep your eyes open they are all amazing too.

I have to say i think Oscar Charles was FANTASTIC and no other pony comes close, unlike pavarotti he never refused to walk forward to recieve his prize at HOYS! And he never changed legs in his gallop at RIHS and still won! But i have to agree Johns Choice was pretty special aswell! These two i could see doing hunting or eventing but no chance with Pavarotti!

I voted Carnsdale Casper and Sannan Valley Bobby Sox, i dont care he was over height everyone has been slagging the life out of him and i really feel for his owner and good for her that she went out and jumped the 15hh courses at BSPS it just proves that pony is one in a million!

Wataday, I haven't heard anyone say a single derogatory comment about Bobby Sox and I have big ears! What people have disliked is that he has been in the wrong class for all these years! As a 15 hander, I too would vote for him - one fabulous, special pony. As a 14 hander I couldn't possibly vote for him - he isn't one! I wouldn't vote for him as a cradles pony either, even if his owners competed in them with him! And my last word on this, yes, it's great to see him jump well in the 15hh class, but isn't that what ponies closer to 15 hands than 14 are meant to do?

My son rode Myteline as a novice so we watched her career with great interest and she was pretty special! Have to say that Holly Wyberghs 14h Pippa has to be the most consistent pony this season with something like 7 2nds in Hoys classes! If ever there was an argument for the points system that has to be it! I also totally disagree with only taking the qualifying places to 3rd now. Years ago a friend always struggled in what was a particularly strong 15h section that year and did it on a 5th for both RIHS & HOYS. Went and jumped really well with a 2cnd at RIHS & 5th at Hoys therefore proving she deserved her place!

Oh Heath, you are so right! I have followed Pippaley this season with great admiration - such a lovely pony and so incredibly consistent. HOYS won't be complete without her. This is where I would like to see a couple of wild cards given in each class as there are some genuinely top ponies who are not going to be there and the class is the poorer without them.

That would be a good solution as I know a small M&M that has always been placed but not got there! As Im sure you will know it as well! You have had a fab champs, well done. Cant say I enjoyed it too much as we were in the white area which resembled living in a third world country! I wont be back to Arena UK unless something serious done about it!

Aha, yes, I think I know the pony you mean (so sorry Heath, only just realised who you are!). Yes, he would be another big claimant for my wild card as he fully deserves the ticket and should absolutely be there. And he will jump round! which perhaps not every pony will!
We too were in white area but somehow managed to really enjoy our week - I was over the moon with our 3 who all managed to win and it was just a very happy time. Are you at Moreton (we missed the entries... again) and if so, we wish that small m&m all the luck in the world.
