Right i have a very cresty little C that is deciding he rather likes his snaffle and not much else.
I want to move him onto pelham/double However his mouth is tiny and fleshy so dont really want to use a double.
He likes a thin mouthpiece and likes the join.
I have tried him in a jointed pelham and a straight ported pelham, He leans on the jointed pelham a lot, he is happier in the straight but seems hard in it. Whereas in his snaffle he is nice and light and doesnt lean.
I think a more flexible bit would suit him and he seems to prefer poll pressure rather than a curb!!! So you see my dilema! Any thoughts?

i was just looking at those on the bitbank, might use them, never have before but can exchange bits and try a few to see if they suit him

As long as he likes it he can have what he wants, just want him to be happy and settled. I think the Lozenge pelham looks like it could be the right type of thing for him and if he still doesnt like the curb chain can get a cover over it or an elasticated one.
Definately going to try the bit bank as if its not for him can try other options also

yes i was also considering that, glad everyone else thinking along the same lines as me, guess it will be trial and error for a bit, until i find something that suits him. Think he would like the flexibility of the waterford

I was thinking waterford too but maybe not if he likes a thin mouthpiece. They are quite chunky in their mouths.

Bear the Hartwell pelham in mind as well, looks a great big chunk of a thing but it's designed to allow for tongue relief. Worth a try if none of the above suit.

lol i thought it looked a nice looking bit and a nice shape for the ponies mouth.
I have tried to get a NS Tranz angle Lonzenge pelham but been advised they dont come in 4 1/2" Any one know any different? I liked the shape of this rather than a bog standard straight one.
