Hi everybody , first of all may i publicly say a huge thanks to the following , Guestless , holiday, vjc many many thanks for all your very very sound advice
Now we have a chestnut filly foal with a white balze and a little white sock in front born on Sat night between the hours of 12:45am and 4:45 am missed it
we we went into the yard at 4:45am there was baby on feet dry and drinking, mum trying to eat the afterbirth, baby then popped twice mare like a "pig in clover" very proud but letting us near foal , sprayed navel, unfortunately i had to leave at 6am to travel to judge so baby left with dad (who is 84) with the instructions if it looks like going pear shaped call the vet ! dad babysat brill and kept a very close eye on them , got home and spoke to Guestless , baby is called Anna in the stable and her posh name is PUILLDOBHRAN -- pronounced pooldoran -- it means in the Gaelic "Pool of the Otter" it is one of my most fav places "up the west coast of Scotland"
Mother and daughter both fine and eating well , vet coming today to see to them, the only thing now that i will worry about is does she have enough milk Anna is poohing and peeing well , .She is now up a bit more on her hind pasterns but she not quite up in her front ones yet
will post photos to night again thank you all so much
lovepink good luck but after they are born i now have all other worries , any how must go and tell the head
