Hi, Firstly, I would double check that you are allowed to take your foal that young. Most shows specify that foals must be at least 4 weeks old. As for plaiting, it depends on what breed your foal is and also what classes you intended on showing the foal in!! If its a class where you would plait the mare...I would suggest plaiting the foal too. If you are just going for the experience, it won't matter either way. Good luck for saturday....let us know how it goes.

Yes i agree, it does sound a bit young as most shows prefer they are 4/6weeks old. Plaiting is usually optional but if the foal is well handled and old enough not to be stressed by it then they can be plaited.

Depends on classes, usually rules say 3 weeks or over for foals, however it is on the young side. Hunters are usually unplaited, but part breds etc are often plaited. What class are you doing? If it stresses your foal I wouldnt personally bother unless you are out for qualifiers etc!!!

What class will she do? I dont have an issue with taking younger foals but it depends on which class she is doing to whether she needs to be plaited!!! xx
