Well eddie has grown so fast and is standing at approx 14.2!!! his dam is 14.2h and his sire 15.2h so i was hoping for a small hack when i bred him, it all depends how fast they grow. some put in a growing spurt then slow up, others grow very steadily. I am hoping eddie will start slowing up now but it is looking like he will finish up around 15.2/3 like his sire!!!

Hi there, As a rough guide, if you add 2 hands to the yearling height, you will get the approximate adult height. My warmblood yearling was just over 14hh last year so I'll expect hime to reach a good 16hh at maturity. He is currently just over 15hh as a 2 year old so he's on his way there!! Not sure if this works for ponies though??? Hope that helps :-)

martinetaylor02 and puzzle your yearlings are little stunners.
I have 3 two year olds who are all to make between 16hh and 16.1hh. My two fillies were 14.1 1/2hh last year as yearlings but my gelding was 14.3hh. I think my boy will be closer to 16.3hh as there is quite a big difference in height between them now but my girls seem to be progressing at the same rate and will probably make height.

Just to mix it up a bit how big were they as foals? I've bred my first one this year and can't decide if she's going to take after her 15.2 mum or 14.2 dad!
