They are next Monday at Stoneleigh. You apply by email from the HOYS website.
They are meant to select randomly but have heard nothing back yet

What a very refreshing meeting.
Open discussion, everyone asked for their opinions and not afraid to offer them either.
Wish the societies were as open.

Any chance of you doing some kind of brief report agent to let us know what kind of things were being discussed?

Since HOYS come on here themselves, I ought to leave it to them really but the Horse and Hound had published information that wasn't correct.
HOYS are not saying that they WILL change the system, but are considering ideas that will ensure that the best get to HOYS and that there are no "easy" tickets.
There were some very good ideas around the table

Does anybody think that you should only be able to do a limited number of hoys qualifiers? In showjumping you cant travel up and down the country chasing all the foxhunter tickets, you have to select. People who have limited budgets travel less and may have less chance than people who do it for a living and travel from scotland to cornwall and back to get a ticket. This must surely improve your chances??? Just a thought, please dont hammer me too hard "team" people!!

I agree with that idea horseygin, but HOYS make so much money from the showing levvies that I can't see them agreeing to restricting the number of classes people can do.

:-/Hmm, didnt think of that, BS like cash too but you cant trail up and down waiting to get lucky in showjumping qualifiers! They attract enormous entries too, bramham grade c hoys went on for hours!!The fox is even stronger still for numbers.

i think they should of moved the minis to thursday instead. as there are several ponies competing in both the open riddens and first riddens. also how about drop the £10 levy to £5 and make the showjumpers pay £5 aswell to make it more fair. and stop societies(nps) charging an extra £10 than is normally charged at any other qualifier if you aren't a showing member. i think limit the number of ponies each producer can qualify to 2 so others get a chance to, most of the classes had 3 from each producer in the class and with only say 26 places in a class they will start losing the hp/amatuers that make up the numbers in qualifiers and give them their hard earned money, only to have a pro qualify 3! i also think they should introduce a part bred arab class at hoys, sa it has proved very successful at rihs.
