What a shame that you have to make this lady feel bad for selling her horse/pony. We have no idea of her personal circumstances & if you read the ad she does clearly state she does not have time to travel etc. We should respect her decision & not make her feel any worse - who knows what is around the corner for any of us?.

i also think the comments were uncalled for especially from a moderator she also says she hasnt time to travel or use ponies . i wouldnt buy anything that had been started by so called intelliegent horsemanship but thats another matter down to choice but to dis her for trying her best to sell is not really on is it ?

Do you know what, as well as being moderators ( a thankless, unpaid, time consuming task), we are also human beings and as entitled to an opinion as the rest of you. Being a moderator has nothing to do with it. It was one person's opinion, you don't have to agree with it but I would defend OB's right to comment. And for what it's worth, I'm in agreement. If you haven't the time to look after them, why wait till you lose your grazing and have to sell in a hurry?

I think folk should keep their opinions to themselves those comments were uncalled for, at least the owner is trying to find them a home together? God the horse world is full of folk that have swallowed the book!!

disgusting comments. you have no idea of her situation and have no right to sit in judgement. i am shocked.
my nan always used to say if you cant say something nice, say nowt.
am sure at no point in advert did she ask for an opinion or advice so why give it???

If one person is being questioned for trying to (responsibly) rehome her horses then shouldn't everybody who sells their horse be questioned?
I don't understand why this person is singled out. If someone can't afford to keep their horse do we tell them to go and earn more money? Or if they sell due to pregnancy then they shouldn't have got pregnant?
She obviously cares about her horses - why make her feel bad when she has come here for help?

How rude!!!! Ive just read Buddysmums advert which i found very honest and i scrolled down to read the attacks on her for selling her horses. Its nice to see that shes thinking of her ponies and finding them new homes rather than them standing in a field and her trying to find time to go and visit them.
Buddysmum good luck and i hope you find lovely homes for them both.

I was somewhat taken aback by OB's judgement! What of the folk who can't be bothered to look after their horses at all?? It would be easy for her to take them to the nearest horse sales where she wouldn't be judged, but maybe she is trying to do the right thing for her horses & find them a home, we have lost grazing at a moments notice & were in the fortunate position to find more quickly, how do you know she hasn't been desperately trying?
