Can anyone share threir experiences with me, my saddle fitter has suggested we use an elasticated girth either the ones with elastic at both ends, or the ones with elastic in the middle of girth ie under ponies tummy, we do workers . Which do you condider most effective against slipping and most comfortable for thse pony. Thanks

I have just changed to a girth with elastic at both ends on a round 13.2 cob and it has stopped the saddle from rolling around on his back. I got a synthetic one off ebay to see if it would work it was £5 and i will invest in a leather one later in the year.

I have 2 leather ones. One elastic both ends and the other one just one end. Both work great. Be careful with the ones elastic at both ends that it isn't done up to tight!

I had one with elastic one end and had huge troubles with the saddle slipping. Changed to a humane girth (one with the two buckle straps going through a ring so they slide, if that makes sense!) and that is brilliant. Also means you can do the girth up half a hole at a time which is useful.

we use them but only ones with elastic on both sides to make it even for the horse, as said before though make sure you don't do them up too tight
did plenty of workers with the last pony and found the saddle didn't slip, managed to get a lovely leather jumpers horseline one, had it for years and its still in great condition but not sure if that company is still going

My saddle fitter says both ends elastic or no elastic, because with one end there is uneven pressure and won't do pony or saddle any good. You do have to be careful not to overtighten but you shouldn't have to over tighten to make the saddle stay in place I have a leather girth (native pony company) with elastic both ends and a professionals choice with elastic both end
